America's Promise Alliance Names Denver One of 100 Best Communities for Young People; and Awards Denver Funding to Host Drop Out Summit.

America’s Promise Alliance held a national competition in 2005 seeking applications to be one of the 100 top communities for young people. Denver applied and received the 100 Best honors because of the policies and innovative programs in the community that support healthy children and youth. In 2007, America’s Promise Alliance had a Request for Proposals for cities on “Improving High School Graduation Rates Summit”. Denver was one of 10 cities selected to host a drop out summit in conjunction with the Governor’s Office which was also awarded funding for a statewide drop out.
