Directions:  The Excise and Licenses office is located on the 2nd floor  (Room 2.H.9) in the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building which is located
on the corner of 14th and Bannock Streets.  The office is just north of the City and County Building and north of Civic Center Park at Colfax Avenue. Office hours are: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 Burglar Alarm System Company Minimize

Required: A license is required to sell, install, monitor, operate, or maintain a burglar alarm system in the city. Alarm systems in government or public school buildings are exempt.

Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Name Check
(ONLY for Denver companies)
There are two ways that you can receive your name check:
   1. Contact the CBI website using this link (Credit card will be needed) CBI Name Check - OR 
   2. Come to our office and request that we do your CBI name check for you.
Either way the charge will be $6.85.

Required: Zoning if business is located in City and County of Denver; a Zone Use Permit must be issued by Zoning before applying for Burglar Alarm Company License
