Burglary Prevention Tips
|
 |
|
The District 3 Police have recently noted an increase in burglaries in Precinct 323 which includes the University, University Hills and Wellshire neighborhoods.
Tips to keep your home safe
- Make your home look occupied, and difficult to break in.
- If you have an alarm system and the alarm company gave you stickers or signs place them in a highly visible location
- Lock all doors and windows before you leave the house. (Even if you will only be gone for a short time.)
- Leave a few lights on when you go out. Connect some lamps to automatic timers to turn lights on and off while you are on vacation.
- have a neighbor pick up your mail and newspaper
- Pushbutton locks are easy to open. Install deadbolt locks on all your outside doors.
