| Voters End Election Commission - Will Choose Clerk Denver Approves Move to Elected Clerk and Recorder 2-to-1
 January 31, 2007 - Denver voters have overwhelmingly put an end to the Denver Election Commission. The results of Tuesday's Special Election gave a more than two-to-one margin of victory to the proposal that calls for ending the 3 member Election Commission and instead electing a single Clerk and Recorder for Denver.
The vote was 36,461-Yes and 17,241-No. The 53,797 votes cast represent almost 20% (19.43%) of the electorate within the city.

| Task Force Attacks Foreclosure Problem Solutions Sought to Protect Quality and Safety of Neighborhoods
 January 19, 2007 -- Michael Hancock, President of the Denver City Council, announced today the formation of a Foreclosure Task Force that will focus on community impacts, education, and best practices. “It is important to protect the quality of life in neighborhoods which include schools and businesses. There is a growing problem in Denver relative to home foreclosures and abandoned properties that lead to safety issues, and we must provide solutions to the problems,” stated Council President Hancock.
The Task Force will meet weekly through March 1, 2007, from 4 to 6 p.m. The sessions can be see live on Denver 8 TV and replayed each Saturday at 8 pm. The programs can also be viewed on-line.
