One-stop Opportunity to Grow and Stabilize Creative Businesses
March 8 – The
Denver Office of Cultural Affairs offers its 3
rd annual
Building Creative Businesses Expo. The program is Saturday,
March 8th at the
Wellington Webb Municipal Office Building,
201 W. Colfax Avenue, and takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More than 40 workshops are offered and participants can attend up to three. Exhibitors will be in the Atrium of the
Webb Building. Registration is not required to visit the exhibition area.
The Building Creative Businesses Expo offers Denver’s creative community (e.g., artists, filmmakers, dancers, graphic designers, musicians, etc.) a “one-stop” opportunity to learn about the various City, non-profit and for-profit resources available and skill-building workshops to help grow and stabilize creative businesses.
More than 50 organizations will be participating as exhibitors and workshop presenters at the Building Creative Businesses Expo, including:
- Colorado Council on the Arts
- Colorado Enterprise Fund
- Colorado Film & Video Association (CFVA)
- Colorado Lawyers for the Arts (CoLA)
- Colorado Music Association (COMA)
- Colorado Theatre Guild
New features in 2008 include one-on-one portfolio consultation, speed networking session, and “matchmaking” boards in the Atrium.
Workshop titles include “Copyrights & Trademarks for Fashion Designers,” “Selling Out! Getting Your Art Into Corporate Collections,” “Distribution and Promotion for Today's Market,” and “Financing Your Small Creative Business with City Loan Programs.”
