City Starts Planning for Aging Boom
Mayor John Hickenlooper has announced the creation of a task force to identify strategies to help Denver prepare for the anticipated “age wave” of rapidly aging baby boomers. Wants to ensure services and keep aging population engaged.

 
 

DIA Sets Another Record

DIA had its busiest month ever in August, making it the 20th month in a row it set a  monthly record for passenger traffic.  But it was the smallest monthly increase since April and traffic is expected to decline now that airlines are cutting capacity to deal with higher fuel costs.

LIGHTS OUT for EARTH HOUR

-   Mayor John Hickenlooper is urging residents and businesses of Denver to help make Earth Hour 2008 a success by switching off lights and non-essential appliances for one hour from 8 to 9 p.m. local time.. Earth Hour will bring millions of people around the world and across the United States together to make a strong statement about energy use and the environment.

April 12 & 13 - 2008 will be the 150th anniversary of the founding of Denver. Doors Open Denver 2008 celebrates by opening doors on each decade with buildings characteristic of various eras by important Denver architects.
