MAYOR HICKENLOOPER FILLS KEY APPOINTMENTS
String of Announcements Kicks-off Second Term
 
In the weeks surrounding his July 16 inauguration to a second four-year term, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper has announced several key positions in his administration. The most recent are the Manager of General Services and the City and County of Denver's Director of Economic Development. In recent weeks he also made his pick to lead the comprehensive Greenprint Denver Initiative and mid-month he selected his choice of CIO to lead the vital Technology Services Department.
ELECTIONS DIRECTOR NAMED
Michael Scarpello named as Denver’s Director of Elections and Helen Gonzales as the Deputy Director of the Clerk and Recorder’s Office.
 
Denver Clerk and Recorder Stephanie O’Malley has, with the assistance of Denver’s Career Service Authority, completed a national search for an Elections Director to work under the Clerk and Recorder’s Office.  Efforts were made to reach potential candidates through publications and professional associations involved with elections administration.
 
Scarpello has served as the Elections Manager for the Douglas County, Nebraska Election Commission (Omaha) since June of 2004. Gonzales has served Denver in several capacities including Director of the Excise and License under the Webb and Hickenlooper Administrations.
