 Technical Services Division Minimize
The Technical Service Division provides maintenance, technical support, and planning by suppling the department with the technology to enable us to function and effectively. The division is responsible for facility, fleet, equipment maintenance, and our Communication Center. It also has any and all information concerning fire apparatus, including age, type, capacity, basic function, and location throughout the city. The Department's repair shop maintains our fleet of approximately 175 automobiles and fire apparatus. The Line Shop installs and maintains the electronic equipment used by the Fire Department for communications. At our Communication Center the dispatchers use "Computer Aided Dispatch" to dispatch over 60,000 calls annually.

 Communications Minimize

Denver Fire Communications maintains all radio frequency transmission and reception equipment, dispatches all calls for Fire Department service, and performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all radio systems, emergency power systems, and towers. In the year 2000, Denver Fire dispatched 65,445 calls, answered over 150,000 calls and completed more than 300,000 radio transmissions.
