Manual collection is when Solid Waste Management crews physically pick up your trash containers from the alley or curb and empty them into a rear-loading truck.
If you live in a manual collection area, be sure to:
- Use heavy duty plastic trash bags or trash containers. No trash container can be larger than 32 gallons in size.
- Place your bags and/or containers out for collections no later than 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
- Do not overfill bags or containers. Each bag or container must not weigh more than 50 pounds.
- Bag all of your trash.
- Store your containers and extra bags of trash out of public view on non-collection days.
Residential trash collection type is determined by the City & County of Denver.
