Parks & Recreation Department
By City Charter, the Denver Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was established on May 17, 1955 to advise the parks and recreation manager with respect to departmental policy and operation; and to review and comment on the proposed parks and recreation annual budget.
The board consists of 19 Denver residents who serve without pay representing the Mayor, City Council and Denver Public Schools. The members serve at the pleasure of their respective appointing authorities, and consist of the following representation: 5 members representing the Mayor, 11 members each representing our 11 Denver City Council Districts, 2 members representing our 2 at-large council members and 1 member representing Denver Public Schools.
