It is important for voters on the permanent mail-in ballot list to keep their address updated with the Denver Elections Division. Mail-in ballots are not forwarded by the U.S. Post Office.

Your mail-in ballot will be sent to your home address on record unless you specify an alternate mailing address. Ballots will be mailed out beginning approximately one month prior to Election Day. Ballots will be mailed out in batches over a period of time. If you have not received your mail ballot by October 20, then call the Vote Line at 720-913-VOTE (8683).

Withdrawn Ballot Issues
Amendments 53, 55, 56 and 57 have been withdrawn from the ballot, but not soon enough to meet ballot printing deadlines. Some voters who are on the mail-in ballot list will receive a ballot that includes these amendments. The ballots that will be in use during early voting and on Election Day will have the word "WITHDRAWN" printed across each of these four ballot issues. Denver's ballot counting scanners have been reprogrammed to ignore any votes on these four ballot issues. Any votes on these issues will not be counted.

Mailing Back Your Mail-In Ballot
Please follow the instructions carefully for marking your ballot.

You may mail your ballot back to the Elections Division, 3888 East Mexico Avenue, Denver, CO 80210. The postage required to mail back your ballot is $1.17. Note this is U.S. Postal Service “flat” rate and not a typical “letter” rate. If you are a first-time voter and are required to include a photocopy of your ID with your ballot (this will be indicated on your ballot), the extra sheet will not increase the postage. See this page for acceptable forms of ID.

Mailed ballots must be received at the Elections Division no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.

Has the Elections Division mailed out / received back my mail-in ballot?
There is an easy way to find out whether your ballot has been mailed to you, and whether we have received back your voted ballot. The Colorado Secretary of State's website has a lookup feature for registered voters. You can check on your voter registration status, find out what political districts you live in, and check your mail ballot status. Use this link to go to the SOS lookup. On the results page, scroll down the page to "Mail Ballot Stage Information."

Please wait several days after you have mailed or dropped off your ballot to check its status, as it may take several days for your ballot to be entered into the system.
