Some licenses require that the applicant undergo a background check which may include fingerprinting.
Background Investigations
Background investigations will be conducted by the Department of Excise and Licenses by retrieving information directly from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Fees
Fees: $6.85 - Checks should be made payable to Manager of Finance.
Payment shall be remitted at the time of application.
Fingerprinting
Fingerprinting will be conducted by the Department of Excise and Licenses. Fingerprints taken by a private fingerprinting company will not be accepted.
Out-Of-State
If the applicant resides out-of-state, he or she may submit a fingerprint card taken by the local police authority in his or her place of residence on a FBI fingerprint card (FD-258). The applicant may also be required to submit a letter of clearance and criminal history record from his or her local police authority.
